The Vox Continental was used extensively by Ray Manzarek. He used this organ for the first two albums (The Doors and Strange Days). After these blockbuster albums, he switched to the Gibson G101 (as the keys on his Vox kept breaking).

Included are 20 sets of Vox Continental registrations (over 960 samples)! The following registrations are included:

000808, 000880, 008008 008080, 080008, 080080, 688656, 800008, 800080, 800884, 844886, 880086, 886584, 888080, 888084, 888556, 888586, 888808, 888856, and 888880.

We carefully sampled every note from each of the Vox drawbars. They include each note from every key on the Continental, allowing you to mix your own sounds by layering samples.

We also include several of Ray Manzarek's favorite Vox Continental registrations. You will be able to replicate the exact sounds he used on such hits as Light My Fire, When the Music's Over, and The End. You will also be able to hear the authentic sounds of the many surf and pop bands of the 60's including The Dave Clark Five, Strawberry Alarm Clock, and The Animals.

These samples will be delivered to you on CD-ROM. We are including wave (.wav) and aiff (.aif) files that will play on most samplers. We also offer Motif voice files for owners of the Yamaha Motif ES and XS. These files are easily loaded as sample waveforms so you may import them directly into your Motif ES or XS (step-by-step instructions included). Please email us if you wish for us to include either the Motif ES or XS files.

These samples are compatible with any sampler that reads wave or aiff files, including the Yamaha Motif, Roland Fantom, Korg Triton, and many Kurzweil, E-mu, Ensoniq, and Akai MPC samplers. They are also compatible with most of the leading software samplers, including Reason, Pro Tools, Logic, Acid, Halion, E-mu, SoundFont, Sound Forge, Cakewalk, Sonar, Emagic, and Cubase.

We can also custom format these files for other samplers. Please send us an e-mail indicating if you need a special format for your sampler.
